Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Unfortunately, here in Chicago we had rain a couple days ago which washed away all of the snow. So hopefully the weather man is right and we'll have a little snow on Christmas day to make it a white Christmas!

Here's a mani with Christmas tree green for the background and snow (with sparkles!):

I'm Still Alive + Winter Sky Mani

Wow....I can't believe that I've let practically a month go by without any posts! It's now winter break for me, but these past three weeks leading up to break have been absolutely crazy for me. When I started blogging in June, I had forgotten to think about how I was going to do blogging once school started. I've been trying my best to keep up with it, but I promise to be better with blogging more often. I'll have to set a New Years blogging resolution lol.

Here's a little winter night sky mani I did.

I have to say, it looks a lot better in person...the Orly chrome I used over the dark navy polish doesn't come off the in the picture the way it does in real life, but you get the idea. :)

Have a great rest of the day and thanks for reading!

My Winter/Holiday Go-to Polishes

For me, after Thanksgiving usually marks the beginning of winter and the holiday season. Since Thanksgiving is only a day away, I thought it would be nice to post some of my favorite colors and polishes that I use for this time of year.

Probably the most obvious color to start out with would be the color red.

As you know, red is absolutely everywhere around the holidays, and it's no different in the polish world. The amount of different shades of red that I've seen from the latest holiday collections is astounding. It's understandable though, since holidays just aren't holidays without the color red. Pictured above is one of my favorites that came out recently, China Glaze Red-y & Willing from China Glaze's Autumn Nights Collection. You can see a swatch of this polish here.

The next color that I would like to point out as being great for the winter season is grey.

Grey is a polish color that I think looks fabulous with practically everything. I tend to associate the color grey with warm and cozy sweaters, which is why I think grey is a great color to wear for winter. The pictures shown above are Essie Cashmere Bathrobe (swatch here) and Sinful Colors My Turn (swatch here). Cashmere Bathrobe is great because not only is it a pretty shade of grey, but it also as a silver microshimmer embedded into it. So if you're looking for a nice grey polish this season, make sure to check Cashmere Bathrobe out!

The next two colors that look great for winter is an icy blue and navy blue.

The above icy blue duochrome is Orly Angel Rain (swatch here), which I think is perfect for winter because this color reminds me of ice and snow. And since people generally think of darker colors in the winter, I think that's would makes navy blue great for winter as well. The navy blue polish pictured above is Sinful Colors Cold Leather (swatch here).

Another two colors that I generally use during the holidays is sparkly gold and what I like to call Christmas tree green.

If I had to pick only one polish to wear over the holidays, it would be anything gold and sparkly. The gold polish pictured above is an unnamed polish by Charlotte Russe. However, Christmas tree green is another lovely color to wear around the holidays. The green pictured above is Sinful Colors Strapped (swatch here).

The last wintery polish color that I am going to list is actually a surprise for me. I know some people might disagree, but hear me out. The last polish color that looks great for winter is shimmery brown

This winter season, I've seen a few shimmery brown polishes immersed in some nail polish winter collections. I think this is because people tend to associate the color brown with warm things like hot cocoa and coffee, especially once the temperature begins to drop and it gets cooler outside. The polishes pictured above are Sinful Colors Leather Loose (swatch here) and Essie Sable Collar (swatch here).

Are there any winter or holiday polish colors that I missed? Are there any that I listed above that you disagree with? Let me know in the comments below!

I hope you have a great rest of the day! Thanks for reading!
